Case study · VerCafé, a VerCode product

Operating system for specialty cafés

A multi-tenant SaaS that runs a specialty café end to end: branded ordering, barista POS and kitchen display, recipe-level inventory and Apple Wallet loyalty. Five cafés already run on it.

The problem

Specialty cafés juggle a generic point of sale, paper stamp cards, delivery apps that take a 20% cut, and rough stock counts. None of it brings customers back or shows the real margin on each cup.

What I built

  • A multi-tenant platform where every café gets its own white-label storefront, colours and custom domain, in English and Arabic.
  • A barista POS and kitchen display with live orders, plus curbside service: saved car profiles, arrival alerts and two-way chat between driver and barista.
  • Recipe-level inventory that deducts grams and millilitres per drink and add-on, with live cost of goods and margin per cup.
  • Apple Wallet loyalty passes with lockscreen updates, automated birthday gifts, and an AI menu scanner (Gemini vision) that turns a photo of a printed menu into a bilingual digital menu in seconds.
  • Payments through MyFatoorah (K-Net, Apple Pay, cards) settled straight to the café's bank with no platform cut, and payment keys encrypted with AES-256-GCM.

Outcome

Live at vercafe.com on monthly subscriptions, with five cafés running their business on it.
